For those who haven’t seen Ben Affleck’s directorial debut, I’d highly recommend it. The story was gripping and Affleck definitely has a unique style behind the camera.
Be warned, though. You most likely will not agree with the end which, I believe, is exactly what the filmmakers were trying to accomplish. Too often Hollywood gets caught up in the cliché three-act structure that gets wrapped up obviously in perfect paper with everything the audience has seen before but for some reason keeps paying money to watch again.
The Coen Bro’s, P.T. Anderson, and now AFFLECK (really? Bennifer? The guy people love to ridicule is actually a talented filmmaker?) have managed to show us that true artists can still be heard through the mainstream system.
