Sorry if that’s already been discussed here or even mentioned in dialogue as the reasoning behind his name and I missed it or forgot — as I plumb forgot that Genesis was Tyler/Tolliver until that line from Wolverine about his being Cable’s kid….

In other news, Elektra’s breasts in the final panel are absolutely ridiculous.

Blamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07342343767763035991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-46394665001638967162020-10-26T13:14:30.063-05:002020-10-26T13:14:30.063-05:00I don't recall wether or not Marvel played it ...I don't recall wether or not Marvel played it close to the vest on this one but I am inclined to believe they did. They certainly did with #125 which they billed as "the issue you've been waiting for".Drewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10082589040664926667noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-27996602267748806112020-10-26T10:40:54.146-05:002020-10-26T10:40:54.146-05:00I remember getting this one and honestly wondering...I remember getting this one and honestly wondering whether Wolverine was getting the adamantium back. I don't recall whether Marvel was playing it close to the vest or whether this was just a case of me not following the comic press, but what happened here was a genuine surprise for me.

This was my penultimate issue of WOLVERINE as a regular reader. I started picking it up for the build to #100, then stopped after 101 because I had no interest in feral Wolverine and I hated the bandana costume. So I was on board for maybe six issues or so, and that was it. I next picked it up for the "Operation: Zero Tolerance" crossover issues, since the series followed a group of X-Men through that crossover. I also read Chris Claremont's four-issue run circa #125-128, then I started reading regularly again when Erik Larsen became the writer with #133.Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14580725636327122073noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-20243802302005641922020-10-25T00:48:49.042-05:002020-10-25T00:48:49.042-05:00It's an interesting decision, and it's one...It's an interesting decision, and it's one that doesn't quite work (too much of Wolverine's perspective comes from other characters telling readers what he's thinking or doing), at least until Wolverine breaks free (and the issue shifts to a more horror-like style

Or, it's effectively an attempt at re-doing the WEAPON X as a one-and-done issue, with somewhat more superhero trappings to it, and it goes as well as should be expected.Teemunoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-33387869269509924862020-10-24T21:17:59.345-05:002020-10-24T21:17:59.345-05:00I was okay with Wolverine not getting the adamanti...I was okay with Wolverine not getting the adamantium back. Mostly because, as you pointed out, there really isn't much of a difference in him with or without it. It was a little strange, however, to go into an anniversary issue that didn't really provide much in Logan's journey. Any victory claimed here is rendered moot by the events in Wolverine #145.

As you've been revisiting this time period I've come to the realization of Marvel's Wolverine problem. They create the illusion of massive change but never commit. Outside of the fight with Cyber where his claws get broken he uses them, often, in ways that should have shattered them. Then, after his death a few years ago, they bring in Old Man Logan to fill the void.

Drewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10082589040664926667noreply@blogger.com
