Never ...I have always had a soft spot for the Hulk. Never followed him for any extended period of time though. Now is probably the longest I have been reading him without interruption; since the Planet Hulk thing started.

I am hoping the new movie does him some justice. I have been hearing good things about it so I am optimistic.Phantomashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05551460006238624083noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-80269267096577960002008-06-13T23:52:00.000-05:002008-06-13T23:52:00.000-05:00Yeah, I really liked Bruce Jones's run too. He cam...Yeah, I really liked Bruce Jones's run too. He came to Fallcon one year and I had him sign some books.

It was funny, because as soon as he walked in the door, my buddy turns to me and says "that's Bruce Jones. I can tell because he's dressed like a novelist, not a comic book writer." And he was, down to the sportcoat-with-leather-elbow-patches.

I've heard that the new movie has Banner talking to a "Mr. Blue" via the internet, which I thought was an interesting nod to Jones's run, which I would have otherwise expected the producers to have overlooked.

As for Dr. Strange's involvement in the "launch Hulk into space" plan, admittedly, when I was writing this up, I couldn't recall if he was in on it or not. I didn't have the issues handy (meaning I was too lazy to dig them out)so I checked the one source of info that is never wrong, Wikipedia, and it said that the Illuminati, sans Xavier, who was missing, and Namor, who dissented, agreed to send the Hulk into space for the good of the planet. And the Hulk certainly included Dr. Strange in his revenge plans upon his return.

I do seem to recall that Dr. Strange was reluctant to do so, citing his time with the Hulk in the Defenders, and had to be convinced by Reed and Iron Man.

Though Dr. Strange did banish the Hulk before, in issue 300, to an interdimensional crossroads, when the Hulk had lost all vestiges of Banner and was completely mindless, and the combined forces of Marvel's heroes couldn't slow his rampage.

So I guess I'd say to the best of my recollection, Dr. Strange was at best a reluctant participant in the whole scheme.Austin Gortonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14281239771248780430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-30541246288247810392008-06-13T17:02:00.000-05:002008-06-13T17:02:00.000-05:00I loved Bruce Jones' run on the HULK as well as th...I loved Bruce Jones' run on the HULK as well as the WORLD WAR HULK prelude with all the worldbreaker shenanigans and such.

Also my nephew used to call him the Incredible Hunk which says all sorts of things un-intended.boots~https://www.blogger.com/profile/11451943950396747401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-91541594282185384072008-06-13T13:33:00.000-05:002008-06-13T13:33:00.000-05:00Listen, I think it's kind of dumb that the Network...Listen, I think it's kind of dumb that the Network thought the name 'Bruce' wasn't masculine enough. It's a perfectly masculine name, as Batman would attest to.
I'm just saying that if you're worried about a name's masculinity then you might as well go all out.
Citizen Kane is to movies like the name 'David' is to masculinity.

Also, I thought Dr. Strange was opposed to launching the Hulk into outter space?Dr. Bitzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13568570859981368717noreply@blogger.com
