And John Oliver was fantastic.

Agreed on both points. I was totally expecting the transition into stop motion to be ignored, or be the result of a story someone was telling. Instead, it was an integral part of the episode's plot and character development. Brilliant.

And I loved how Abed out-analyzed John Oliver and ended up making him comfort his bad memories of Christmases past.Austin Gortonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14281239771248780430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-977092463253234122010-12-21T00:46:24.326-06:002010-12-21T00:46:24.326-06:00Community was really fantastic. In most shows it's just a throwaway gag, but that extra little detail really put it over the top. (He thought it was going to blow up the moon.)

Yeah, I think you're right. I totally forgot about that, though I remember thinking the whole "afraid they'll blow up the moon" thing was pretty funny.

I've never seen a gingerbread house made that was actually intended for someone to eat. Does that even happen?

I seem to recall once making a Gingerbread house I later ate in Elementary School.

Of course, it may have just been that, like you, I thought it was stupid to not eat it and just didn't wait for anyone to tell me not to eat it.

@Falen: i was surprised no one else took Fabio's technique of smashing all the garlic at once instead of doing each clove individually.

Yeah, me too. That was like the one part of the challenge that didn't require finesse; why not bang it out as quickly as possible?

And wasn't there supposed to be an episode where they cook against Colichio? Wasn't Penny dating him when the guys were bouncing a laser off the moon? (He thought it was going to blow up the moon.) Then Penny dumped him because he was too dumb.

Also, as far a Ted's christmas themed snack goes...I've never seen a gingerbread house made that was actually intended for someone to eat. Does that even happen? As a kid, I was always pissed that all gingerbread houses were for decorations only.
