I think the artwork holds up well, and the Magneto flashback is well done. (Greg Pak incorporated that sequence into "Magneto Testament," as I recall.)<br /><br />And as you pointed out, I like the implication that the alliance between the X-Men and the Hellfire Club in the present is the first step toward this particular future.<br /><br />"Ah, the mid to late 80s, where not every dystopian future ends up with Apocalypse ruling or whatever... "House of M" did come to mind though (and please don't assume that speaks to my preferences :) ), particularly since that was another timeline, like the one in this issue, where the mutants are overlords but generally just let humans suffer in a lower station, as opposed to AoA, where the mutants in power are systematically exterminating humans. <br /><br />Of course, neither AoA nor House of M are actually set in potential futures (as opposed to alternate, but present day, realities), making this particular future setting all the more unique.
