I mean, they're not exactly the "go home to their families and quiet lifestyles after the war" types; is she willing to let them pillage Westeros? Will she send them back across the Narrow Sea? Would they be willing to go? It's really not the battlefield for which that type of force is trained to fight on, so they may very well have had problems regardless of their numbers, had it come to a fight. On this show, that's downright generous treatment of a woman.

Randyll points to his ancestor’s Valyrian steel sword (one of the few weaknesses White Walkers have), Heartsbane, and says Sam will never wield it. We know where this is headed.

Chekhov's Valryian Steel Family Heirloom!

One odd thing about Daenerys's speech was that I'm confused why it was necessary.

Yeah. I guess she wanted to firm up their support? But really, the episode just needed a big moment to end on.

He didn't have a choice but to hold the door.

And really, he didn't have much of choice to do anything. I mean, do we know he chose to go trappsing around the North hauling Bran on his back? Does he even have the capacity to understand that kind of choice, or does he just do what he's told, warg or no warg? And of course, the tragedy of Hodor is that Bran is responsible for causing the very condition that robs him of his agency (and his mind). That, at least, seems like an accident, but it would still be nice for Bran to show some remorse. But at the pace the show is moving now, I doubt we'll see that.

Do we know for sure that other actress was the one behind the planned death of Lady Crane?

I don't think so. I believe it's one of those things where, if we get further information on it, so be it. If we don't, it's probably safe to assume she was behind it.

I'm curious about the relationship between Randyll and his wife.

Me too. Like, she seems to hold some sway over him, but seems like such a dick that he'd just do what he wanted regardless. There are ways women in this world can exert some level of agency on the men around them, but you reach a certain level of dickishness where it seems like all those avenues would be closed off, and Randyl is definitely at that level, yet his wife still seems to have some control over him.

I also assume Tommen is a convert.

Ditto, because first and foremost, he's also an idiot.

I'm curious what, if anything, that is happening in the play Arya is watching is legitimate news to her.

Ditto. Like, did she know about Sansa marrying Tyrion? She might have caught wind of that, even before leaving Westeros, but how about Tywin's death? The way the show was edited, she would have been on the ship (or close to it) to Braavos when it happened. Armor and swords are great but facing a mob 10 times larger than the soldiers seemed like they could have been swarmed.

As there was no fighting its a moot point, I guess.

-GinoAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14540236523260955478noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-18194978173578154912016-06-14T06:10:25.192-05:002016-06-14T06:10:25.192-05:00Interesting thing about Sam's dad. This was the original TV series on 'familial-power-struggle/family-intrigue/sex/murder/incest/infanticide/bad-guys-win/good-guys-get-screwed' storylines, from which GoT is a successor.angmc43@hotmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15379700547226493861noreply@blogger.com
