Basically, it's the difference between murder and killing in self defense, and Carol's problem is that she manages to contort every situation into a "killing in self defense" one.

So what if this season was episode after episode taking place during the same period of time but from different perspectives?

I would love to see the show do something structurally different/challenging like that. If nothing else, it would help slow the series down before it has to move on to the next recycled plotline.

I'm not a fan of smoking but in the zombie apocalypse, take comfort however you see fit!

On the one hand, cancer is more of a death sentence than ever in this world. On the other hand, surviving long enough to die of cancer in this world is something of a victory in and of itself.

Oh, and Ron's an idiot. Stay with Carl...no matter how stupid his hair is.

Yeah. And for once, Carl (mostly) stayed inside the house! And no one stupidly died because of his actions!

I understand Denise's reluctance not to do the surgery under normal circumstances, but the woman was gonna die anyway, so what's the harm?

Mrs. Teebore and I said the same thing. Like, dude's gonna die if you DON'T do anything, so it's not like you can kill him harder. Even if you fail, you'll get some much-needed experience to boot.

So the truck horn wasn't intentionally used by the Wolves. Didn't see that one coming.

Ditto. A pleasant surprise. I also appreciated that, despite the losses taken by the Alexandrians, the Wolves' attack was repelled without needing all the "big guns" to ride in and save the day.

So was Deanna smart not to go back into Alexandria or cowardly?

I don't really like Deanna as a character, but I'm tempted to come down on the side of, if not smart, at least pragmatic. She does bring SOME value to the community, enough that not actively risking her life is a good thing, so given her lack of fighting skill, holding her back at least isn't entirely about cowardice.

Now if, having seen the threats out there and the importance of learning at least basic self-defense, she refuses said training or to further risk her life in future situations, I'd come down more on the side of cowardice.

but holy cow, how can you not think basic training with weapons is not a necessity for everybody in this world regardless of how thick the walls of your town are?

Right? Like, there's a difference between "trust no one, kill all outsiders!" and "maybe we should make sure we can use a knife/shoot a gun/protect our walls".

Austin Gortonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14281239771248780430noreply@blogger.com
