One imagines Littlefinger could have started things some other way, but that doesn't absolve Lysa of blame.

SpaceSquidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09760939592584995876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-79704528450413462512014-05-28T08:21:34.068-05:002014-05-28T08:21:34.068-05:00@Dr Bitz
Well, I wouldn't put it beyond Lysa ...@Dr Bitz

Well, I wouldn't put it beyond Lysa to be so crazy to think that Catelyn's mere existence was cockblocking her Petyr. Still, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to think she had a part in the Red Wedding. I don't want to imply that such a link is either likely or unlikely, but I certainly don't see how from current information that could work. Littlefinger might potentially involved - he could have given Tywin the idea when they met at Harrenhal in season two - but even that's just speculation.

Still, if you want speculation, I've always wondered whether Robin is actually Jon Arryn's kid, or Littlefinger's. The latter certainly worked out Joffrey's secret quickly enough. Maybe he had reason to be thinking along those lines...SpaceSquidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09760939592584995876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-42304402901104968182014-05-27T23:34:02.795-05:002014-05-27T23:34:02.795-05:00@Reese: "I think she actually may have liked ...@Reese: "I think she actually may have liked it."

I think you might be right but I hope you're wrong.

"Which made me wonder who rules Winterfell now...Brandon, right"

Bran is the rightful ruler but he's presumed dead (along with Rickon). I certainly thought about it as I writing it. I guess the point I was trying to make is pushing Lysa to her death, while certainly evil and a dick move, had a very tangible motive behind it. True fact.*

She said anyone who stood between her and Petyr died: Her father, her husband and her sister. Well, we know about the husband but I don't think we've heard anything about her father? And I wonder if she had some hand in her sister's death too?

That was kind of a weird line. I mean, maybe somehow she's got something to do with the Red Wedding (though it's not clear how), but it didn't seem to me like Catelyn was doing much cockblocking as she was wandering around watching her son lose a war. And as for Lysa's father, exactly how much standing in the way of a marriage can you do from hundreds of miles west and too ill to travel? I'm not saying Lysa couldn't have arranged an assassin to finish him off. I'm just saying it seems like she could spend the time more productively. Breastfeeding ten year olds is a time-consuming job, I'm sure.

Petyr telling Lysa that he only ever loved Catelyn was kind of a dick move. I mean, he could have just pushed her down the moon door and let her die in a state of confusion instead making sure she knew exactly how unloved she was in her final moments.

I submit that having been pushed to your death by your new husband after years of yearning for him, his final words to you might come low on the scale of what's eating at you in your final seconds. But yeah; dick move. I'll bet even that haunted tree north of the Wall was all like: "Dude; no need."

* Except not, obviously.SpaceSquidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09760939592584995876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-26432548589002966082014-05-22T13:55:01.500-05:002014-05-22T13:55:01.500-05:00Your confusion over the Mountain's appearance ...Your confusion over the Mountain's appearance is understandable both for the reasons you note and for the fact that they're recast him twice now, and we haven't seen him since season 2 on top of that!

I liked the farewell scene between Tyrion and Bronn. I don't think Tyrion was mad at Bronn, though. I think -- in fact he may even have said -- that he would've done the same thing were their roles reversed. And as he left, Bronn seemed genuinely sorry he couldn't do something to help Tyrion.

And that final scene was just awesome. Littlefinger is really setting himself up as a villainous force to be reckoned with, just quietly in the background while everyone else goes about their business.Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14580725636327122073noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-23393254835352166582014-05-22T10:13:01.580-05:002014-05-22T10:13:01.580-05:00Either Sansa's hair was extra red...or she was...Either Sansa's hair was extra red...or she was extra pale? Still pretty hott though.

I couldn't stop thinking about that kiss she & Baelish shared! At first I was all skeeved out, as you were, then I started wondering if she liked it; as you notice, she didn't push him away or verbally object (on screen, anyway). I think she actually may have liked it. Probably because she would rather end up with Baelish than Robin, but also because Baelish's pervy sexual advances didn't seem to make her uncomfortable. Also, earlier in that scene her & Robin shared, she mentioned that Winterfell has been razed & she might never go back. Which made me wonder who rules Winterfell now...Brandon, right? But, I don't know if she knows Bran is still alive, which then makes me wonder if she believes Baelish is her best bet of ever seeing anything close to her old home again...he did mention rebuilding it right before he smooched her ass...idk

The softening of The Hound is getting hard to watch.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04944426155574998463noreply@blogger.com
