They were born with their abilities and they are more or less stable. Spider-Man, like both Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic, had his genetic code altered by by radiation and his case had spider DNA grafted unto his.brandenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18098413670016263499noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-73885611965202684402016-04-26T01:28:02.897-05:002016-04-26T01:28:02.897-05:00OR it's the AOA Dark Beast up to shenanigans h...OR it's the AOA Dark Beast up to shenanigans here on his first on-panel appearance collecting mutant babies for purposes.Teemunoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-5938863243023993542016-04-25T17:14:39.649-05:002016-04-25T17:14:39.649-05:00FWIW it's never made clear that the Nursey IS ...FWIW it's never made clear that the Nursey IS where the Inferno babies are, so it's either an undeveloped plot point, or a horrific one. It may be old-fashioned, but I much prefer the standard white gutters too. They're just such a big part of how a comic tells its story, I feel like something is missing when they're gone. Though I guess it doesn't sound like I missed much.

I'm not a fan of full-bleed art either, as a common practice. For special occasions like graphic novels I have no problem with it, but if you're doing it month in and month out, it loses some of its impact. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned, but I'll happily take standard white gutters in a regular monthly comic any day.Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14580725636327122073noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-65509148008099405782016-04-21T09:01:21.941-05:002016-04-21T09:01:21.941-05:00Spider-Man and Beast fight --klip-- an anti-mutant...Spider-Man and Beast fight --klip-- an anti-mutant villain named Master Blaster. We've seen mutants father children before- Pietro got Crystal pregnant and Scott got Maddie pregnant. And Beast never raised these concerns- or if he did, nobody bothered to share it with the readers. Heck, the X-Men left Maddie alone while they were in Paris, which makes no sense if it was a high-risk pregnancy.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-62284989224470859592016-04-20T19:03:24.978-05:002016-04-20T19:03:24.978-05:00Does Spidey's right leg doing whatever it seem...Does Spidey's right leg doing whatever it seems to be doing qualify as a non-Liefeld "501 Genes"?

You're right that the potential stresses & benefits of any hero being a parent, especially Spider-Man, would be interesting, but it would require nuance. I'd say he's doing it lightly as the very real risk of catching a techno-organic virus seems to be missing from Beast's list.

But, it's certainly a change of pace from the hilarious panel in mid-80's PETER PARKER THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN where Spider-Man imagines raising a family with Black Cat with costumed little Spidey and little Cat chasing each other around the table and a costumed Spider-Dog watching them.Teemunoreply@blogger.com
