Witty PAD writing, awesome Stroman art, tension, action, and mystery (revealed at the end to be Cyber) and you just can't go wrong with the Rhane's World intro! This was the first time I fully understood her named to be pronounced like "rain," much to the shame of my buddy who always thought her name sounded like "Ronnie."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-30262797798536907282020-03-28T23:28:46.756-05:002020-03-28T23:28:46.756-05:00Love the hells bells especially Tremolo 💓❤️🧡💛Love the hells bells especially Tremolo 💓❤️🧡💛Grimlockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16931440779570529628noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-37783147277666653542016-11-01T08:18:39.321-05:002016-11-01T08:18:39.321-05:00Those crowds of Stroman's really are... someth...
Those crowds of Stroman's really are... something.

// Alien Legion was an Epic series that Larry Stroman illustrated before X-Factor. //

Pretty good one, too, from what I recall, although I haven’t read it all (nor any of it in quite some time) and I believe most of that was from before Stroman came aboard.

Blamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07342343767763035991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-36652938155642297202016-11-01T01:43:35.234-05:002016-11-01T01:43:35.234-05:00I'm saddened by the lack of discussion around ...I'm saddened by the lack of discussion around X-Factor!

While it wasn't as exciting as the other X-books at the time, it was certainly consistent and the characterization was consistent.

I think Shrew and Briquette are the only Belles to keep their powers. Shrew at least has a different mutation and she does get a nice little character arc over this issue and the next.

I'm surprised the current X-office hasn't tried to revive the government sponsored team (or an Avengers version since they're the big franchise). The political commentary in this book is more appropriate than the way it gets shoehorned into everything else and the concept is still ripe with possibilities.

CRAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-66333330735932368042016-10-29T13:44:01.421-05:002016-10-29T13:44:01.421-05:00I remember having the same reaction after issue 79...I remember having the same reaction after issue 79 being so drab. This one was was a great return to form, and I was obsessed enough with "Wayne's World" at the time that they pretty much had me at the opening joke.

I also had loved the "Blood Hungry" storyline so seeing Cyber return was awesome as well. (Also this issue coincided with a great return-to-form for PAD on "Hulk" as well, so it was double-feature Friday at the Powell household.)Jasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13298753675007196538noreply@blogger.com
