It was super brief and should have had a heck of a lot more emotion. Basically, "Welp, I tried to reach out to David, couldn't, so goodbye." *closes his eyes for him* aaaand that's that - let's move on to the relaunch! *everyone around Xavier celebrates, no longer concerned with the comatose Legion*

Lorna's outfit edit is hilarious. They just took her Jim Lee uniform and removed shoulder/upper arms and upper leg portions to in turn leave her with sexy opera gloves and thigh highs, all so PAD could make a pervy Guido joke. I'll take it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-26864321768104017352016-03-28T12:43:22.395-05:002016-03-28T12:43:22.395-05:00Don't worry about it; I know how it goes. I like a lot of his stuff, but sometimes he reaches way, way too hard to squeeze in a joke simply for the joke's sake, whether it fits or not.Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14580725636327122073noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-69062180941630267662016-03-21T18:30:20.190-05:002016-03-21T18:30:20.190-05:00I haven't read this issue in easily 10 years, ...I haven't read this issue in easily 10 years, yet I remember so much about it. This is strange to me as I was never a huge X-Factor fan and the art isn't really my cup of tea. I also didn't really get the impact of this reboot until recently when I read the whole Outback saga and realized how much of an evolution the book and characters went through, and how I felt the relaunch was making them take a couple step backwards in terms of development.

Yet the shots of Polaris stretching for Guido, Wolvie swallowing his cigarette, Legion in the hospital, and Archangel flying above Muir Island are what I'd consider to be iconic images. Meanwhile, I can't recall any notable shots from the X-Men issues of the Muir Island saga.Ian Millerhttp://ianjmiller.deviantart.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-90395706667585127412016-03-20T18:53:30.555-05:002016-03-20T18:53:30.555-05:00As a Hulk fan, I was super excited to see Peter Da...As a Hulk fan, I was super excited to see Peter David take over X-Factor, and this issue felt like a nice bonus. I actually got a sense of closure to an era that I had just begun reading 6 months before. I thought the individual vignettes worked, with the exception of the Wolverine/ Jubilee scene. She was still appearing in Wolverine's solo title, after all. I think the art was pretty good, if not flashy; Kirk Jarvinen did a great job with the facial expressions and body language.

- Mike LoughlinAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-9125090256202842962016-03-19T17:37:13.482-05:002016-03-19T17:37:13.482-05:00I was thinking how neat it was for Mignola to plac...
I was thinking how neat it was for Mignola to place Xavier’s original five students in the forefront around him and for the colorist to take a cue from that. Only then did it hit me, Right… They’re X-Factor. It’s their book.

Even with its faults — mostly, as is David's wont, humor that’s overly precious or tonally suspect — this is easily the best-written issue of the series. What a shame the art is, at most, competent in places.

I’m still frustrated by the fact that we never saw Val learn Mystique was/is the apparently human Raven Darkholme she knew at the Pentagon, assuming she did; that subterfuge of Mystique’s just kind-of disappeared after Freedom Force was formed.

Blamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07342343767763035991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-28833730302005839322016-03-19T11:23:52.839-05:002016-03-19T11:23:52.839-05:00Long time lurker, first time poster...

It's exciting! Easily the best issue in The Muir Island Saga, that's for sure. Lots of nice character moments. And some of these moments were needed, like Xavier's scenes with X-factor, and Rogue and Mystique. If anything, this issue is a good example of the Post-Crossover Quiet Issue, and one that is done really well.

This is pretty much the last and final gasp of the whole CC/80s era of the title, and the franchise as a whole, so to speak. Some of the titles had been in something of a transition since X-tinction Agenda, but after this issue, you can definitely say the CC (and to another extent, the CC/Louise Simonson era) is definitely over and done with for good. wwk5dnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-67839556704600633752016-03-18T22:58:36.541-05:002016-03-18T22:58:36.541-05:00It would fit disturbingly well to later Wolverine ...It would fit disturbingly well to later Wolverine issues if Wolverine told the brat to give him some space because he so intends to be tapping the redhead, now that they'll be living under the same roof.Teemunoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-33379984153651676382016-03-18T22:12:02.584-05:002016-03-18T22:12:02.584-05:00I always thought it was pretty clear that Wolverin...I always thought it was pretty clear that Wolverine told Jubilee they would stop having a Batman & Robin relationship.Bedfordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02833301170976646038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-2326634419464459112016-03-18T14:35:39.467-05:002016-03-18T14:35:39.467-05:00...
