Is it really that surprising that I watch Glee?

I'm familiar with that Cleveland Show clip, and laughed when I saw it. And I appreciate you acknowledging the irony of using it to illustrate your point.

And it's not like I'm some crazed fan of the show or anything (I just watch it and generally enjoy it, though it certainly has its ticks that bug the piss out of me and it's fair share of bad episodes) but if you'd seriously like a reasonably intelligent assessment of what's good about the show (and part of what I like about it), check out this episode review by the Onion AV Club's Todd VanDerWerf, specifically the first three and the last paragraphs (the rest is just recap stuff you won't care about).Austin Gortonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14281239771248780430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-29345382978405210462011-02-16T12:30:52.544-06:002011-02-16T12:30:52.544-06:00@Teebore I am deeply saddened that you watch Glee....@Teebore I am deeply saddened that you watch Glee. I don't know if it's all the female blog readers or your wife, but something has damaged the organ in your body that resists pieces of shit. That is the only reason I could thin of as to why you would watch this show. Huh. I do it all the effing time. Pretty much every day. I've not started looking up the phone numbers online. It's a good thing I don't answer, most of them are scammers, trying to see if your number is real or telemarketers.

haha, we never had to answer our phone with our last name. Why? It could be ANYONE!

I dunno. (Assuming you don't watch HIMYM) the joke was that Marshall, whilst staying at his childhood home in Minnesota, was reverting to some of his old childhood mannerisms, including automatically answering the phone, "Erickson residence, this is Marshall," even if he knew who the caller was.

And then later, he was talking to one of his friends and call waiting beeped, but he didn't know the number, and his friend gave him a hard time for being unable to NOT answer the unknown caller because it would be rude.

I was just pointing out that not everyone in Minnesota takes that approach to unknown numbers.

i was once again reminded that i can't stand almost all the characters

I've realized I like various characters to certain degrees: I like Will when he's just a teacher and not the focus of a story, I like Rachel and Kurt when they're not self-centered bitches, I like Finn when he takes on a leadership role (like the post-Super Bowl episode) but not in any of his relationship stories (and, let's be honest, despite how much I enjoyed the last episode, I really don't like many of the relationship stories anyway...).

Puck is one of the few characters I like without any reservations.

I was super pissed at Finn for being such an EFFING Hypocrite.

Yeah. Like I said, it was a curious bit of mischaracterization. And one the writers were even aware of, since they acknowledged it.

(And let's be honest: both Finn and Rachel have been pretty ridiculous in the way they handled the issues that led to their break-up).Austin Gortonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14281239771248780430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-52795643558453853952011-02-14T08:32:19.075-06:002011-02-14T08:32:19.075-06:00wait, do people in other states actually answer th...wait, do people in other states actually answer the phone when a number they dont' recognize calls? And i don't have a problem with Mike Chen)

I was super pissed at Finn for being such an EFFING Hypocrite. He's still mad at Rachel for kissing Puck, but he makes up with Puck. THEN he goes and kisses Quinn. He constantly does the same thing that all his exes have done to him. He's such an asshole.
