I binge-read 31 - 34 last night, so it was in one of those.

I have no problem with Leia continuing to wear her dress in this era. When not on the battlefield or in an environment like Hoth, she tends to be a galactic fashion plate (Cloud City, the Rebel fleet at the end of EMPIRE, the Ewok village, for example). It's the buns that bug me; can't she wear her hair some other way? She even has a different hairstyle at the end of STAR WARS!

Luke, meanwhile, does bug me. No idea why LucasFilm wouldn't let him be depicted in the yellow bomber jacket instead of the Tatooine garb, unless it's a simple case of there not being an action figure of the former available while these issues were coming out.

It looks like Luke does change clothes for a few issues prior to the EMPIRE adaptation though, so there's that to look forward to, at least.Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14580725636327122073noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-67471676276871312242016-04-19T10:16:45.056-05:002016-04-19T10:16:45.056-05:00Thanks. It was motivated by the full page recaps of the movie that ended up in a lot of the early issues, but it still has its uses. :) Austin Gortonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14281239771248780430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7266470995513648978.post-18049599357804474572016-04-19T10:15:31.705-05:002016-04-19T10:15:31.705-05:00The costume thing drives me NUTS. I can understand them sticking with Leia's white robes, since the movie gave them nothing else to work with, but Luke ended the movie in perfectly respectable non-farm boy clothes, and I have no idea why this series didn't use that look (and yeah, kudos to the current series for using it). I'm glad the new Marvel SW has rectified this and given Leia a variation on her Hoth outfit, too, instead of her Senator robes, both of which strain credulity after a while.Erik J Kreffelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16600501989135593427noreply@blogger.com
