Just one review next week, as I'll be busy working on our local fall comic convention (stop by and say hi if you're in the area). After that, it's Joe Madureira and Deadpool's big breakout, Excalibur finally gets a proper annual, and Magneto makes his official return as "Fatal Attractions" continues.

A little off topic, but did you do the Spiderman Wolverine one shot from 1987? I just read it for the first time in too many years and really enjoyed it. Be a great retro for a slow week.
ReplyDeleteThanks as always for what you do. I really enjoy the blog!
Agree 100%. Was wondering myself if we would see a review of the one-shot, its deep (ish)! Also coming from a huge fan of the blog.
DeleteThanks (both of you)!
DeleteI originally skipped over the Spider-Man/Wolverine one-shot because it's really more of a Spider-Man story than a Wolverine/X-Men story (he's there, but all the big developments/character bits are Spider-related). That said, I do have it down as a candidate for a Retro X-amination - it is a one-shot that Wolverine is co-headlining, before he has his own series, and the Marvel Index includes it amongst the Wolverine issues they index, so it's worth a look.
So I'll get to it someday.
Dyin' used to mean something to the livin' indeed, Nick. If you thought death was a joke in the Marvel Universe in 1993, just wait for the second decade of the new millennium.
ReplyDeleteThese ads were so nineties with the different sized fonts and monochromatic images mixed in. They screamed MTV. I still love it!
ReplyDeleteYeah; I recall Marvel’s ads in particular translating as “We know how to use PageMaker!”
