X-aminations in August

This upcoming month we'll finish up the Brood story and delve deeper into the Paul Smith run in X-Men and wrap up the inaugural story in New Mutants. Then we'll be taking a little break from New Mutants to catch up on some assorted X-Men one offs following their return from space (...spoiler?).

But, I restructured things a bit from my original plan, and decided that, to get through the one offs and back to New Mutants as soon as possible, I'm going to double up on the one offs this month and cover two per week (one in X-Men's usual spot, the other in New Mutants' spot). That way we'll get back to the regular X-Men/New Mutants pairing right first thing in September.

Also, I will be on quasi-vacation the week of August 8th and 9th. The posts will go up automatically, but I may not respond to comments as timely as usual. I will be reading them all, and will respond to them eventually, but probably not right away. Just FYI.

(Also also, G. Kendall, writer of the great Not Blog X (whose reviews of 90s era X-Men comics were an early inspiration for X-aminations) just announced that he's working the original X-Men animated series into his review rotation. I know several readers of this blog who enjoyed that series, and we've discussed in various comments threads a desire to revisit it. I may still, at some point, but in the meantime, for anyone who remembers that series fondly (or not-so-fondly), I encourage you to check out G. Kendall's reviews. More details here.)

August 1st: Uncanny X-Men #165
August 2nd: New Mutants #2

August 8th: Uncanny X-Men #166
August 9th: New Mutants #3

August 15th: Uncanny X-Men #167
August 16th: X-Men Annual #6

August 22nd: Special Edition X-Men #1
August 23rd: X-Men/Teen Titans #1

August 29th: Uncanny X-Men #168
August 30th: Marvel Graphic Novel #5 ("God Loves, Man Kills")

    Ha!

    That makes sense. Good call!

Since I might be away/offline towards the end of next week too, I'm only too happy to hear that my comments may not be the only late ones.

Thanks! I just didn't like the idea of waiting months before getting back to New Mutants. Plus, this way, we'll cover Secret Wars the week of Christmas, which is something I was shooting for, for whatever reason (maybe because of the toy tie-in?).
