11 Things For Which Teebore Is Thankful

The bacob club chalupa, Frankenberry cereal, and Cranberry Splash Sierra Mist.
In a perfect world, I'd be able to get all three year round.

The new Avengers cartoon, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes

I had heard nothing about this show (other than that it was going to be on) and then caught a few minutes of an episode, liked what I saw, watched a full episode, then set my DVR to get caught up. The show has a fun energy to it and I was impressed with some of the adaptations of classic Avengers issues it's done.

Key changes at the climax of 80s power ballads

That X-aminations finally reached the Thomas/Adams run and will soon be reaching the beginning of Chris Claremont's run.

New Futurama episodes
I'm happy to once again live in a world in which there are new Futurama episodes forthcoming.

Swedish Fish

Alison Brie on Community

Anyone who's been reading my "Last Week in TV" posts knows I think that Community is one of TV's best shows (the last episode featured a lengthy chase scene which was interrupted by a Latvian parade inside of a blanket fort; how can you not love that?), and Alison Brie is, aside from being a great comedic actress, also, ahem, easy on the eyes, shall we say.

The internet
You kinda take it for granted until you no longer have it at your house.

Marvel Handbooks

I'm a sucker for reference books about fictional worlds, especially encyclopedias, and the hardcover Marvel Handbooks are the gold standard for such things. I'd kill to see DC adopt the format for their characters.

Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone!

So you must love the Lost Encyclopedia, right?

    But be aware:

"Contrary to what many people seem to think, the truck driver's gear change is in no way inventive, interesting or acceptable: it is in fact an utterly appalling and unimaginative admission that you've run out of inspiration and the song should have ended one minute ago; but you're under pressure to make something which can be stretched out to the length of a single."

Ha! Yeah, I know exactly what you mean.

    Me too!

@Hannah: if only I didn't have this bum jaw

Maybe if you didn't unhinge your jaw to shotgun pizza you wouldn't have those problems.

@Dr. Bitz: So you must love the Lost Encyclopedia, right?

Sigh. You trying to poke a bear?

Yes, I quite like the Lost Encyclopedia in concept while I find it rather infuriating in execution.

I mean, really, who alphabetizes by FIRST name?!?!

Ha! That website is awesome, as is their warning.

  6. Swedish Fish are good...

And I also am thankful for the internet. That's a good point you have there.

Ohmygoodness! O forgot I missed the last Coommunity episode. I will have to run around and find that later today. I love that show.

Have you, by chance, watched Raising Hope? That show is hilarious as well.

    Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving!

Definitely track it down; it was a great episode.

Have you, by chance, watched Raising Hope? That show is hilarious as well.

I have not. I've heard good things about it, but I was never a big My Name Is Earl fan and I know a lot of the same people/sensibilities are involved with Raising Hope, so I never made room for it on my schedule.

    Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving!

    Thanks! You too!

  8. So the Frankenberry Splash chalupa will blow... your... mind...

If it, um, existed, so that's more of a "would" than a "will". (Get to work, R&D of Tacky American Food Industry!)

I had heard nothing about this Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes at all until now. Of course, not having Disney XD — had to look that up; mmm, new corporate synergy — or a DVR, I'll need to rely on my crap Internet to sneak a peek sometime. I've still only seen the first couple 4-episode DVDs of the mostly awesomesauce Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

Internet not working in the house seems to be something we now have in common, although yours seems to be plain-old nonexistent while mine just craps out all the time. Sadly that's the very reason why I'm cutting this comment short — and why almost any comment of length begins with me typing a last sentence along these lines just in case.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Yeah, I've seen a few episodes of that too and was quite pleased with what I saw.

Yeah, I've been sans internets entirely at home for almost two months now.

  10. Yay! I am out of the "comment moderation" ghetto and finally caught up with... Thanksgiving... 8^P

Alison Brie is, as the kids say, full of win. Community is another show that fell by the wayside last season — I mean, Thursdays were brutal — but I've been keeping up with Season Two while catching up with Season One on disc, and {falsetto} loving it.

Yeah, she's just one more reason I really want to check out Mad Men.

Yeah, it's great, isn't it? Glad you're loving it.

Comment. Please. Love it? Hate it? Are mildly indifferent to it? Let us know!
