Must See Movie

I can honestly say my most enjoyable movie theater experience ever was this Sunday watching CORALINE.

Neil Gaiman's exceptional children's book translates to the big screen with luster and gloriously tedious attention to detail by Henry Selick. The visuals are absolutely stunning. You HAVE to see this in the theater. Do not wait for the dvd or cable. The main reason for this is the 3D technology.

For those in my generation when someone says 3D movie thoughts of the hehehehe hohohoho from Friday the 13th part whatever infect the mind. CORALINE is lightyears beyond this primitive gimick. It's truly a visual drug! The glasses are clear and unencumbersome. I barely noticed they were on even having them over my regular specks.

Even the soundtrack is infectious. I've downloaded the EXPLORATION song (performed by the Hungrarian Symphony Orchestra Budapest a foreign singer who is obviously very perky and peckish about something) and will most likely have to buy the cd within the next few days to satiate my urge.

See CORALINE and enjoy the wonders of Life and truly powerful Art.

  1. indeed, it was pretty awesome, yet I haven't read the book, so now I must do that.

  2. The book is good, but the movie does stray from it slightly.

  3. Part 3.

It was Friday the 13th Part 3 that was in 3-D, of course.

Glad to hear you liked this. I've heard nothing but good things about it. I'll definitely have to check it out sooner rather than later.

  4. PS I like the slight bit of sassafras on Coraline's face on that poster.
